8月5日 天気がちょっと...

今日は天気がちょっと悪いです。

霧が出ていて、細かい雨が降っているので午前中はラボでお仕事。

The weather's not so good today.

Today morning we work in Labo.

午後からは発掘を再会しました。

この場所は続縄文時代の炉址が確認されています。

今からおよそ2000年前の人々が残した生活の跡です。

Afternoon we restart excavation.

Hearth of epi-Jomon is confirmed.

People approximately 2,000 years ago left this hearth.

8月4日 今日もやるぞー

発掘２日目。

今日も掘り進めます。

これはイヌの上腕骨です。

This is bone of Dog, humerus.

お昼は日本考古学のレクチャーです。

Japan archaeology lecture.

ピット(坑)が見つかったので、半分に切ってどのように堆積しているのか確認しました。

Pit was found, we cut it to half and confirm it how it deposited.

8月3日 発掘スタート！

いよいよ今日から発掘スタートです！

　Excavation start!

早速掘り始めます。

これは魚の椎骨と海獣類の指の骨でしょうか。

8月2日 日本文化体験！

今日も良く晴れてます。

今日はお休みですが、地元の方が開いてくれた「日本文化体験」で太鼓、けん玉、竹馬、折り紙などを楽しみました。

Today's weather was wonderful!

Since it was a day off, the entire team took a trip to the Rebun Board of Education
 for a special event, a "Japanese Cultural Day". Local volunteers introduced the Western team to taiko drumming, kendama, takeuma, and origami.

8月1日 セッティング日！

今日は現場やラボのセッティング日。

Today is setting day of site and labo.

ボウボウに生えている草を刈り、

We cut grass,

大きな袋に入れてある土嚢をユンボでどけてもらいました。

その間に、現場近くに借りた建物で自己紹介タイム。

Meanwhile, it is self-introduction time in the building which we borrowed near the site.

 裏手には船泊湾の美しい海が広がります。

Funadomari bay is the very beautiful sea.

最後は人力で土嚢をどかします。 

Finally, we moved sandbag with human power.

7月31日 礼文島へ移動！

日本チームは今日礼文島へ移動！

発掘道具などがあるので、札幌からレンタカーで移動。

稚内まで６時間弱かかります。

その後フェリーでさらに2時間。

移動だけで1日が終わってしまいます。

Japanese team moves to Rebun Island today!

Because there are excavation tools, I move by a rent-a-car from Sapporo.

It takes a little less than six hours to Wakkanai.

It is two hours by a ferry more afterwards.

なぜか毎年移動日は雨に見舞われ、海上もガスがひどくて利尻富士は拝めず...

明日から天候は回復するそうなのでさっそく土嚢外しの大仕事が待ち受けています！

今年も浜中2遺跡の発掘調査の時期が来ました！

Everyone!

It's been a long time!

Time of the excavation of Hamanaka2 site came this year!

今年は8月1日〜31日まで礼文島浜中2遺跡で発掘調査を行います。

今年も日本だけでなく、カナダ、アメリカ、イギリス、オランダ、台湾、ロシア、デンマークなどから学生、研究生が集まり、共同調査を行います。

We perform excavation this year Hamanaka2 site from 1 to 31 on August.

Student, researcher gather from Japan, Canada, USA, UK, Netherlands, Taiwan, Russia, Denmark and conduct a joint excavation.

今日は北大で発掘前のオリエンテーションを行いました。

多くの学生は昨日アメリカやカナダから札幌に到着したばかり。

礼文島の歴史や考古学、人類学についてレクチャーを受けました。

We performed orientation before the excavation today in Hokkaido University.

Many students just arrived at Sapporo yesterday from USA and Canada.

They received a lecture about the history and archeology of Rebun Island, anthropology.
