数日更新が空いてしまい、申し訳ありません。

調査は順調に進んでいます。

今日の作業から、アイヌ協会から紹介されてきた若者２人と

慶応大学の学生チームが合流しました。

Our excavation has been going on pretty well!

We have new crews from today.

Mr. Kayano, Mr. Nishimura, and Ms. Sasamura are Ainu descendants

who are interested in archaeology.

Zooarchaeology students from Keio University, Japan, also arrived.

調査の大部分が魚骨や貝がらが大量に入っている層に突入しました。

ふるいにかけても、土が少量で大量の魚骨や貝がら、ウニとげがひっかかります。

今週は大量の遺物が見つかりそうな予感が・・・！

Shallower excavation units reached to a layer which contains a lot of fish bones, shells, and sea urchin.
Deeper units have large sea mammal bones surrounded by abalones and fish bones.
We sifts the shallower shell layer to check small artifacts in our grids.

We guess we are going to have tons of artifacts during this week!
